Welcome to Diasporic Movement
Diasporic Movement involves all forms of African-diasporic dances* (poppin, breakin, locking, krumpin, hip hop, house dance, ragga, freestyle, Cuban rumba, capoeira, soca, son, merengue, cumbia, etc) to teach, research, fellowship, choreograph, and perform. This organization seeks to use Diasporic dances as a tool for personal expression, cohesion, community, and social change. The amalgamation of different forms transcends boundaries that create unmistakably new dance styles.
The product of this dance is knowledge, a concerted attack on ignorance.
*African Diasporic dance: These are dance forms developed outside of Africa that retain/contain/utilize elements of African storytelling, form, timing, and rhythm.
